Run a Convening
Reading about structural change is one thing. Working out what it means for your team, your partners, your decisions? That's a different conversation.
The 10F Local Convening Toolkit is for anyone who wants to take the forecasts off the page and into a room. It's being used by government teams, civil society organisations, cross-sector networks and independent practitioners to run focused sessions on the shifts most relevant to their context.
A well-run convening does a few things a report can't: it surfaces where people in the same organisation hold different assumptions, it creates productive pressure against "return to normal" thinking, and it generates decisions and next steps rather than just understanding.
The kit works with a single forecast or across several. It scales from a two-hour team session to a full-day workshop.
The kit is a starting point, not a prescription. Use what works for your context, skip what doesn't, and adapt freely — it's Creative Commons-licensed like everything else we produce.
The kit includes:
A guide for choosing which forecasts to use as shared reading and session focus
A facilitation guide with session modules for teams and cross-organisation dialogue
A feedback form for capturing outputs and decisions during your session
A reporting-back template for recording highlights and insights afterwards
You can also download the AREAS Toolkit (PDF) to accompany the Convening Kit.
Tell us about your convening
If you're running a session, we want to know. It helps us understand where the work is being applied — and lets us share aggregated learnings back to the broader community.
